OUR CONDOLENCES

Joan Ecker, a former long time resident of the Building, passed away on September 10, 2023 at the age of 93.  She sold her unit a few years back to reside with her daughter Lisa in Utah.  Joan was always more than willing to help out and was a member of the Board for a number of  years.  Joan always had a smile on her face and had a very pleasant demeanor.  Long time residents of the Building will remember Joan as a friend to everyone and she will be missed.  May Joan Rest in Eternal Peace.

Bernie Zollo,
(Unit #414), passed away peacefully at his Long Island home on August 13, 2022.  Our sincerest condolences to Enza and all the Zollo family.  Bernie was a friendly and happy man and his presence will be greatly missed at Atlantis B.  May he Rest in Peace.  Click on the link to see the entire obituary.  https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/name/bernard-zollo-obituary?id=36219086

Karel Pennink, (Unit #412).  John Swaun received a sad from note from Elizabeth Pennink letting us know that her husband Karel had passed away.  The Pennink's were original owners in our Building and reside in Medford, NJ.  Karel was 101 years old.  Our condolences  to the Pennink family.  May he Rest in Peace.


Suellen Donaghy(Unit #516), passed away in New York on December 23, 2020.  Suellen was a long time owner and a resident in the winter months.  She had a friendly smile, always seemed happy and had a wonderful sense of humor.  She is survived by her husband Jack, children and grandchildren.  Suellen will be missed.  May she Rest in Peace.

Steven Shenberger, a longtime friend of the Building, passed away right before the New Year.  Steve was a former owner for many years before moving to Port St. Lucie.  Steve was the person you looked to when you needed repairs or improvements done.  He completely remodeled his Unit in 117 after the hurricane and worked on numerous Units in the Building.  Many of the changes he made to the design in his Unit were adopted by others in the Building.  He is survived by his wife Elaine, children and grandchildren .  May he Rest in Peace.
 
George Slichko, a longtime resident of the Building, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2020.  George was from upstate New York but spent many of his later years in Florida and was a year round resident of the Building.  He enjoyed golf, was a sports fan and an avid reader.  He especially liked the authors of Lee Child and W.E.B. Griffin.  Many of the books in the library were donated by George.  He loved to walk and many times you would see him walking numerous laps around the parking lot.  George lived a long life and will be missed by all.  May he Rest in Peace.

Engracia Avila ~ The Building would like to express their condolences and sympathy to the entire Avila family upon the passing of Engracia Avila (September, 2020).  Her sons, Jesus and his wife Mary, and Jose, own Units in the Building.  She is survived by her husband of many years, three sons and their spouses, grandchildren and their spouses and great grandchildren.  She left a large close knit family with many fine memories.  May she Rest in Peace.

Dick Lamontagne, a longtime resident of the Building, passed away on July 24, 2020 after a short illness.  Dick was a past Board member and President for a number of years.  He spent many hours making the Building a better place to live.  His hobby was golf and he was one of he best players on the island.  Dick will be missed.  May he Rest in Peace.

Tony Andreala ~ Tony passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019.  In regards to the Building, Tony was the man behind the scenes doing everything ~ he supervised the balcony repairs, the new roof, the elevator upgrade and numerous other building projects.  All the Board members appreciated his time and knowledge of construction.  We will never find anybody else in the Building who has the knowledge and is willing to devote their time and follow through on every detail of a project.  On a personal level, he was a friend to everybody, a family man, and one who loved Florida.  He was a big sports fan of his hometown New York teams ~ the Yankees, Giants and Rangers.  He is survived by a large family including his wife Dolores, three children, Anthony, Gina and Bobby, and many grandchildren.  He will be missed by all who knew him.  May Tony Rest in Eternal Peace.
